Special Quilts for Special Girls

Special Quilts made for Wanda from Albert Lea, MN.

One of the things I enjoy doing most is making things for people that have a special request. Wanda came into the store and was looking for 2 quilts for special girls. Wanda friend, Janice, has recently passed away from cancer. Janice was the grandmother of two special granddaughters and Wanda wanted to give them something to remember their grandma by, so she had me make these quilts.

The quilts are colorful and have strips in them with words like support, friendship, family etc. Both of the quilts were backed with flannel so that they would be nice and snuggly for the girls. Thank you Wanda for letting me make these very special quilts for the girls.

Quilt Retreat

This last weekend I was at my sisters quilt retreat out at the Eagle Bluff Center.  It was a great weekend of sewing and of course we did a lot of talking and laughing.  I didn't get my project quite done but I have finished some Christmas napkins and placemats.  Take a look at them.
